Continued 100% auction success - Unbelievable !!
It was standing room only at the back of the Holiday Inn, Sandiacre on Wednesday 10th October 2012, when our fourth auction sale of the year was held. Although the sale had only 5 lots to offer, it was once again 100% success on the night as all 5 properties sold, after some very spirited bidding, for figures well ahead of the reserve and guide prices. First lot to be offered was a 3 bed semi, requiring improvement, on Netherfield Rd,Sawley. There were clearly 2 parties keen to purchase, who both occuppied front row seats, happily not next door to each other. Bidding started at £70,000 and the hammer eventually fell at £92,000, after the 2 parties slogged it out right to the death !! Lot 2 was the only commercial property of the evening, and featured the former offices of Chambers and Hind solicitors in Stapleford. Since the practice had merged with Ellis Fermor and Negus, the buildings along with the adjacent house were offered to the packed sale room as two separate lots. "The level of interest in this nice unbroken block of freehold property exceeded our conservative expectations, and we were fully expecting some serious competition to buy" added auctioneer for the evening Robert Jones. "Our clients were the retired partners and family members of the practice who had owned the buildings for many years, and they were indeed very sad to see the property being sold". "It was the end of an era" added Robert. Hopefully after the auction though, it will be the start of something different for the new owners who quickly bid to a touch over £140,000 after the guide price of £125,000 was left far behind in the distance. The adjacent house also exceeded initial thoughts of a £60,000 guide price well behind, to sell for £73,250 to a different buyer from the offices. The other two lots on the night also fetched figures well above expectations with a bungalow in Sandiacre guided at £80k selling for £98,000 and a three bedroomed semi-detached house on Pasture Road,Stapleford that had been a delightful family home for many years, selling after competitive bidding for £126,500. Once again Wallace Jones has shown how it clearly dominates the auction market between Nottingham and Derby, having sold nearly £5 million worth of property in the last 8 sales, with a success rate of 100% - yes 100% and there are no other auctioneers in the country that can boast such a comprehensive sale service. The final sale of the year is planned for December, so if you have land or property that you think might be suitable for the auction rostrum, contact Wallace Jones - that’s only if you definitely want it to be sold though !!

Thinking of selling by auction?...
Come and talk to the experts! Next Auction May 29th 2013. If you are interested to learn more about this unique way to sell land and property, and would like and discuss the potential of auction and how it might work well for you, you are very welcome to call into the offices on Derby Road or make an appointment with our own in-house auctioneer Robert Jones. Robert will discuss with you how auctions work, what type of property is best sold, and what are the pitfalls and dangers. "Since appearing several times on the television programme "Homes Under The Hammer" and having Phil Spencer from the TV attend at our last auction sale, a number of people have asked me could I just spend 15 or 20 minutes running through how the auction works and what as a seller do I need to do next " commented Robert. "If I had a property I was keen to sell, that had perhaps been on the market for 6 months or more with very little interest being shown, I would definitely consider auctioning it" added Robert. After nearly 20 years in business, Wallace Jones lead the local property auction market, do call in and talk to one of the team, advice and help promised a plenty!

Biggest auction ever to be held in Long Eaton (and even Phil Spencer was there)
A packed house at the Village Hotel in Chilwell, witnessed on Wednesday night one of the largest and most successful property auctions ever to be held in the local area for decades. It was standing room only as 250 plus eager purchasers, clients, friends, family and the down right mildly curious packed the venue to see all 12 lots sell. Blink and you may have missed a sale, but in a matter of 30 minutes everything was sold, generating a combined total of nearly £1.5 million. "The results on the night were fantastic" commented auctioneer Robert Jones. "The sheer number of people attending far exceeded our wildest dreams and filled the venue to create a brilliant atmosphere". The detailed results are available on the agents website, with everything being sold well above reserve figures. A particular highlight of the evening was that Phil Spencer from Location, Location, Location and various other property TV programmes was also in attendance on the night. "We had been filming in Nottingham, and I was staying at the hotel so popped along to see the sale for myself. What a great result, as you dont see many auctioneers these days enjoying a 100% success rate" he added. Wallace Jones are now clearly recognised as the largest and most successful specialist property auctioneers between Derby and Nottingham, having had 3 sales in the last 6 months selling everything (and they mean everything)with 100% success. Finally those that have been discussing the fate of the large house on Nottingham Road in Long Eaton on Facebook and similar social media sites, that was sold in the auction for £288,000 will be pleased to learn that we understand the buyer of the house wishes to carry out a sympathetic scheme of modernisation and improvement rather than looking to demolish the house and start again.

News from the May 2012 auction
Wallace Jones has been holding local Land and Property auctions since the firm started back in 1994. The firm is delighted and thrilled to be instructed to offer for sale "Maylands" prominently situated on the corner of Nottingham Road and Cleveland Avenue. "I first looked inside this property back in the early 1990s when the owner was thinking about downsizing" commented the firms auctioneer Robert Jones. This handsome period home with many delightful Edwardian features retained, presents a superb once in a lifetime opportunity for the discerning purchaser to buy one of the most famous houses in Long Eaton. Everyone will be familiar with the house as it nestles secretly behind extensive frontage and overgrown gardens. "This is a real gem of a property and in the kind of condition internally that you would expect from a casual external glance" continued Robert. Not a project for the faint hearted though but potentially a very rewarding challenge. Further details and viewing arrangements can be obtained from the sole agents Wallace Jones who will be selling the house and nearly half acre grounds as one lot in the 30th May sale.
